DIOCESAN CONVENTION 2024

JOIN US at Diocesan Convention!! The 2024 Diocesan Convention will be held in Albuquerque, NM at the Cathedral of St. John. Come be a part of seeing and hearing about the work of the church - help add your voice as we learn how we continue to carry out the work and ministry of our diocese.

Here’s a look at how the Youth & Young Adults may choose to participate at Diocesan Convention

November 8th (Friday)

Youth & Young Adults will create a banner to carry into the Cathedral for our time in shared Eucharist. With the exception of those in the altar party or choir, we plan to process in and sit together.

Youth & Young Adults will decorate and prepare for the Episco-Disco and dinner. Youth and children will return to their parents & guardians for this fun event.

November 9th (Saturday)

Youth & Young Adults will have some time in formational fun and crafting activities.

Youth & Young Adults will walk to the park for some outdoor fun and return for lunch!

After lunch, our Young Adults will join the delegates at the Diocesan Convention, while our youth and children will finalize their “letter” and presentation to be shared on the floor at the Diocesan Convention later that afternoon. This is an exciting time for our youth to understand more about their church and how valued they are by the whole diocese!

We have that information for you, should you wish to pursue that option.

For families wanting to join the trip, please see Family registration option.

As with any event, please don’t let distance or cost get in the way of participation. Contact Rev. Le Anna Brun, Missioner for Christian Formation or your local Clergy Person to discuss how we can get your youth or young adult to the event.

DRG Formation Conference 2024

Join other DRG Formation leaders as we explore formation practices, curricula, and begin Advent together.

The purpose of the conference is to develop collaborative contacts among those called to serve in a Formation capacity whether it’s with small ones, teenagers, or young adults. Come join us, whether this is your first rodeo or if you started the rodeo.

With this initial conference, we are interested in exploring your needs as a parish formation leader, whether it’s for Sunday Children’s Chapel or VBS  or something else entirely. Want to know more about Godly Play? Messy Eucharist? Camp Stoney?

This time will also allow lay and clergy both to develop relationships throughout the diocese with others who have similar size groups, are interested in having a shared event, or just have something to share that you want to know more about.

And last, but not least: We want to feed our Formation Leaders both spiritually and physically.  Lunch will be provided and the day will include a special beginning to the Advent season.

We will offer this meeting again in the early Spring, so we can get a head start on VBS and other fun things. Our intention is to offer the meeting twice annually in the Fall & Spring with a hybrid ZOOM option. The Fall will be in the Albuquerque area and the Spring will be in El Paso to assist with allowing more folks to be able to attend in person.
