CONVENTION REGISTRATION

Online registration for Convention is now open and can be found here.

Prior to September 30th, the registration fee is $75.00. Beginning October 1st, the registration fee increases to $100.00.

Completing online registration as soon as possible helps in planning food quantity and space arrangements. 

Directions and Parking

The Cathedral of St. John is located at 318 Silver Ave SW Albuquerque, NM 87102.

Parking is available in the following areas:

  • Cathedral parking lot,

  • the parking lot at the Annex,

  • the top level of the parking garage just north of the Cathedral.

  • Plaza Justicia (office building just to the south of the Cathedral) on Friday, November 6th from 4:00-9:00 PM and all day Saturday.

  • Paid parking is also available on the streets around the Cathedral.

Hotel INformation

The diocese has arranged for a block room and rates for those traveling for Diocesan Convention. The information to arrange your stay is:

Block rate: $129.00/night
Registered guests receive a discount at the onsite restaurant. .

The last day to book at the block rate is October 11, 2026. Any reservations received after this cut-off date will be based on the next best obtainable rate and availability.

Your Convention Packet

All public materials pertaining to Diocesan convention will be posted on this page - everything from schedules, the draft budget, nomination forms, etc. will be updated on this page. There are a number of deadlines for the various part of Convention and its responsibilities. Please review the dates of those deadlines in each of the sections below.

  • 2026 Convention Agenda will be available in late October 2026.

    Diocesan Convention is planned to be called to order at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026 at the Cathedral of St. John, Albuquerque.

Pre-Convention Items

Nominations - OPEN POSITIONS for Diocesan Leadership

Each year we seek laypersons and clergy to fill Diocesan Leadership roles. These roles play an important part in the governance of our diocese. Please submit a Nomination Form (coming soon!) if you are interesting in filling a role.

Proposed Budget

The 2027 proposed Operating Budget was shared across the diocese through Deanery meetings that took place during the summer.  Diocesan Council has taken the comments and feedback to make some adjustments to that budget.  The proposed 2027 budget can be found here: 2027 DRG Prosed Budget (to be available by early October)

Proposed Resolutions & Proposed Constitution and cAnon Changes

Any proposed resolutions and changes to the Constitution and Canons must be submitted by Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Proposed resolutions and changes to the Constitution and Canons can be emailed to convention@dioceserg.org Any proposed resolutions or changes to the Constitution and Canons will be posted below in the Pre-Convention Meetings section on Wednesday, October 28th.

CONVENTION NECROLOGY

Coming Soon: the form to submit names for the Necrology to be read at the 2026 Convention Eucharist. Names to include are those who have died since our last Diocesan Convention (November 15, 2025 - current).

Pre-Convention MEETINGS

In preparation for the upcoming Diocesan Convention, the Diocese will host a series of pre-convention meetings on Zoom in the weeks leading up to the event.

All lay and clergy delegates are encouraged to attend to review key convention business, ask questions, and prepare for informed participation. Other members of the Diocese are also welcome to join.

Use the sections below to find meeting dates, times, and details for the budget review, proposed Constitution and Canons changes, and the Bishop’s Address.

  • Review and discuss the proposed diocesan budget for the coming year. Each session will include a presentation of the budget and an opportunity to ask questions in advance of Diocesan Convention.

    Questions during these sessions are intended to support understanding and in preparation for action at Diocesan Convention.

  • Review and discuss any proposed amendments or revisions to the Diocesan Constitution and Canons, as well as proposed resolutions that may come before Diocesan Convention.

    Constitution & Canons Review

    Proposed amendments to the Constitution require approval at two successive Diocesan Conventions. There are no constitutional amendments proposed for consideration this year, and no amendments from last year requiring further action this year.

    Any proposed revisions to the Canons will be posted in advance of Convention. Supporting materials may include a redlined and annotated version showing proposed edits and their rationale, as well as a clean version showing how the Constitution and Canons would read if the proposed changes are approved.

    Proposed Resolutions

    Proposed resolutions that may come before Diocesan Convention will be posted once they have been formally submitted and received.

  • A presentation and reflection on the bishop’s address outlining diocesan vision and priorities.

Convention SCHedule

    During our Diocesan Convention Eucharist, we will take time in the offertory to gather the United Thank Offering (UTO) from across our congregations. If your congregation is bringing its 2026 ingathering, please bring a check made out to United Thank Offering to place in the offering. If you’ve already sent your gift to UTO this year, you are invited to bring a letter as a simple, symbolic way to join in. All checks and cash received at this year’s Convention will go directly to UTO, turning our shared gratitude into tangible support for ministries near and far.
